Board Service Opportunities Program

The KCTAA Board Service Opportunities Program is a direct response to our mission of developing leadership skills for our members and making leadership contributions to the community.

Two community resources are available for KCTAA interested in serving on nonprofit boards.  Nonprofit Connect has a listing for Board and committee leadership opportunities on its website  www.npconnect.org - click on Connect to Nonprofit (right-hand corner); then Volunteers (left column); then Board and Committee opportunities. Interested individuals can contact the organization directly from the contact information provided on the website.

The UMKC Midwest Center for Nonprofit Leadership has a searchable web-based resource, Board Bank, which matches community leaders with nonprofits that seek talented new board members.  KCTAA interested in completing a candidate profile can do so at www.bloch.umkc.edu/boardbank.  Registration is easy, free to the prospective board member, and takes only a few minutes.  Nonprofits will have access to board candidates profiles, but no organization will have access to your name and personal contact information until you authorize this sharing.  When your profile matches a nonprofit organization’s needs, it sends an email to the Board Bank coordinator at the Midwest Center and the coordinator will then contact you.  If you are interested in discussing the potential board position with the interested organization Midwest Center will send you and the organization a message so a meeting can be set up to discuss the opportunity
