About KCTAA

The Kansas City Tomorrow Alumni Association is an offshoot of Kansas City Tomorrow, a leadership development program sponsored by the Civic Council of Kansas City. It is open only to those who have completed the Kansas City Tomorrow program.

Kansas City Tomorrow enrolled its first class in 1977 with the goal of educating the next generation of Kansas City's leadership. Participants were exposed to a wide range of issues affecting the metro area and learned leadership skills through a structured curriculum.

The Kansas City Tomorrow Alumni Association was incorporated as a separate nonprofit in 1989. KCTAA was formed by alumni of the Kansas City Tomorrow program who wanted to continue to build on networks, learn about issues in Kansas City and practice their leadership skills.

More than 500 people are counted as Kansas City Tomorrow Alumni. KCTAA offers that group behind-the-scenes programs on Kansas City organizations and institutions, access to educational programs with the area's leaders, networking opportunities and information about community leadership needs. A complete look at this year's programs can be found in the Events section.

Each year KCTAA names a Distinguished Alum. The group also provides links to others in the Kansas City Tomorrow Alumni network (check the Membership Directory) and connects to national leadership organizations through the Community Leadership Association.

About Kansas City Tomorrow

Kansas City Tomorrow is dedicated to identifying and cultivating future generations of leaders, not just because it’s a good thing, but because it’s good business. A thriving community makes for a better environment for everyone – individuals, institutions and corporations alike. KCT has developed an intensive case-study approach for a few highly motivated participants. The approach involves stimulating hands-on decision making. Developing the people who can lead tomorrow is THE priority.

The program has run almost continuously since the first class in 1977, with a hiatus in 2000 while the program was restructured. The new program emphasizes case studies and participant involvement, provides tools for leadership and focuses on leadership development.
